Head Coach at Sydney Swim PLC Club team and School.
Qualifications
- Level 2 Performance Swimming Coach
- Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Level 1 Soccer Coach
- Level 2 Sports and Recreation (Course at TAFE College)
Experience
- Coached and produced swimmer for the Australian Swim Team, Annabel Williams, M/D 2007.
- Coached Ian Sarno to U/16 national age gold 2007.
- Coached Zoe Johnson to AIS Scholarship Canberra 2009/2010 (and previously to NSW Scholarship)
- Coache several junior National age record holders, Metro & State record holders, and age group championship winners.
- Former Assistant Coach of the S.A.C Seals Swimming Team (1999-2003)
- NSW 200 IM Squad Coach
- Assistant Coach to former Olympic Swimmer and Coach Clay Evans, Southern California, USA (1984-1995)
- Coached International British and American Schools, Junior and Senior Squads in KSA (Coached all level swimmers), Tri Athletes, Senior and Junior Swimmers.
- In school swimming, Pancha has coached the PLC School team to three IGSSA championships in a row and relay championships at the Pacific Games.
Personal
Arrived in Australia 1996 for the ASCTA Swimming conference and returned to Australia 1998 as a permanent resident. Represented Srilankan national soccer team at the age of 20-22. Enjoy playing soccer, cricket and getting involved in other sports.
Goals
- To coach to the best of my ability quality swimming technique and how to swim to win.
- To produce a successful program for young swimmers and to get them into state and national levels.
Personal Coaching Philosophy
T0 be a successful coach one has to be single minded about reaching the swimmers’ goals. I measure my coaching ability by the success of my least talented, but most committed and hard working swimmers.
