PLC win third IGSSA swimming championship in a row

A huge congratulations to our PLC Sydney Swimming Team on their remarkable success last Friday at the IGSSA Swimming carnival.  PLC Sydney has now won the IGSSA Swimming Carnival for the third consecutive year and this year it was by more than one hundred points.

PLC Sydney’s record breaking performance included winning all three categories in Division 1: junior, intermediate and senior, and making it into every final. All girls swam brilliantly and as well as winning eighteen first places in the finals they also broke six records.

The records included:-
Intermediate Medley Relay in 2.05.61;
6×50m Freestyle relay in 2.56.03;
Kailah Elliott – 17 yrs 50m freestyle in 26.71;
Nicole Chen -12 yrs 50m freestyle in 28.48;
Zoe Johnson in 100m freestyle in 57.96
Zoe Johnson in 50m 16 yrs butterfly in 27.57

Nicole Chen earned the Junior Swimming Champion trophy and Sheena Cameron claimed the Runner Up Senior Swimming Champion of the meet.

A special mention must go to the following girls who swam up from their age group.  From the 12 years Emma Reid and Lauren Sloane swam for the 14 yr age group; Ashleigh Blumor swam up from 14 to the 16 yr age group; Michaela Le swam in the 16 yr age group instead of 15 and Sheena Cameron swam up from 17 to the 18 yr age group.
